S4: Matthew 18:19-20
Scripture Read. Matthew 18:19-20 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Thought Applied. "in my name, there am I with them" ? First, we have to be gathered to do something for the glory - or good - of Christ before we ask. Again, this is to reinforce that what we are asking for is good and in alignment with God's vision. Second, He is there - not physically, so how? Spiritually? In intent? I think in intent.
Application Made. If two are gathered in his name but NOT in agreement, then it won't happen. Or if two or more are gathered and in agreement, but NOT in his Name, it may not happen. So a good thing to do to see if something you think is good to do should be to bounce it off a fellow Christian. If they agree, then prayer is definitely the next step.
Response Prayer. The Strength of unity in prayer.
